Dr. Ascher can serve as a consultant to individuals and families when a loved one is struggling with substance use issues and other compulsive behaviors. Dr. Ascher can help you to approach a loved one that you are concerned has a drinking or substance use problem. He can also arrange an inpatient or outpatient detox if necessary. In times of crisis, Dr. Ascher can respond quickly and will listen very carefully to your issues of concern and get a sense of your current needs and tailor his approach to you.
Dr. Ascher is happy to collaborate with any existing treatment providers, treatment centers, psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, therapists, and recovery coaches that you are currently working with.
Too often families in crisis are not presented with all the existing evidence based treatment approaches that can lead to positive recovery outcomes and allow families to heal. Dr. Ascher draws on his medical, psychiatric, addiction, and psychotherapy training in addition to his knowledge of the ever-changing recovery world. Dr. Ascher can also help you to identify world class and evidence-based treatment options based on your values, needs and goals.

Following an initial 90-minute consultation, if you decide to proceed with Dr. Ascher’s help, he will request a nonrefundable advanced retainer fee to cover 10 hours of time devoted to care. This time will include in-person visits, crisis calls, extensive calls to other clinicians on the case, family sessions, etc.
